Obstacle Poles-
Much attention has been focused on the look of the poles, but none on why they were put there. In the past month, there were several near misses between residents and guests coming thru the gate.
We are a community of older drivers and our reflexes are not what they once were. Those coming thru the gate very seldom signal their intentions to turn right or left. The gates open at the same time and cars very often enter the turning lanes at the same time. It is a recipe for an accident. The obstacle poles were an attempt to solve the problem.
We now have a workable solution to solve the problem and eliminate the obstacle poles. We have worked on the electronic means to wire the gate arms not to go up at the same time. Sounds like an easy solution- but figuring out how to do it took some time.
We are awaiting the installation of the switches- and will remove the poles when that work is complete.
The February issue of "The Good Life" is now available for pick up in the Fitness Center Lobby. You will also find it here on the Newsletter page!
The Pool is Now Open -
Minto has finished all the necessary repairs. Thank you for your patience while the pool was closed for repair work.
Landscape Update:
Due to the extreme cold weather South Florida has been experiencing, many trees, plants and shrubs have been dropping their leaves...this may continue. Some may appear to be dead but are not.
Grandscapes will not be doing scheduled pruning/trimming for a few weeks since it could be harmful.
Thank you for your patience.
Help Wanted for The Good Life Newsletter
Quite a staff has been assembled for our newsletter. We can still use ad salespeople. Every resident can help by asking the stores, salons and service people they use to advertise with us.
Channel 63 problems?
Please call Comcast at 1-800-Comcast and tell them you need to have an "A.D.S. Coding Update". Comcast will take the necessary measures to restore your service.
The Questions & Answers from the Town Hall Meeting of September 2009 is now on the Board Page of the Website.
Lake maintenance is a very important part of our communitys aesthetic look. Please do not allow any trash to enter the lake. If you see a plastic bottle, paper wrappers, etc. it would be very much appreciated if you picked it up rather than letting the trash collect at the waters edge.
Please Curb Your Dog
There have been several complaints lately made to the Property Manager of residents failing to keep their dogs from doing their business on other residents' property. It is against our rules to allow your dog on someone else's private property, or off its leash. This applies to visiting animals as well. Please visit the Rules & Regulations posted on our Documents page.
I Love Buena Vida T Shirts
The Board unveiled the latest BV fashion item- the new "I Love Buena Vida" Tshirt. Available in 2 colors- brick with creme lettering and denim with creme lettering- the cost is $7.50 per shirt. There are a limited amount available- so head over to the spa desk with your check.
New Residents- when you come to our BV events- check in with the event Godparent. They are looking forward to meeting our new residents and will introduce you to other neighbors.
Notice of Board Meetings are posted in 2 places in the Clubhouse- on the bulletin boards outside the Property Managers Office and by the Fitness Center. A Meeting Notice and the upcoming agenda will be published on the Board Page- and the meeting will be listed in the Event Listing area of the website. An email containing the agenda of the monthly meeting will be sent to everyone registered on this website.
2009 Community Survey Results
The Buena Vida Survey was completed by 270 residents, a 60% return, which is excellent! Thank you to all who participated. Click here and you will see the entire presentation. The survey gives us an idea of who we are, how we feel about Buena Vida and what we want for the future.
The Neighbor Network and Netiquette
The Community Survey shows the residents almost equally divided between leaving the Network as it is ( uncensored) and supporting limiting and monitoring all postings (censored). Your Board of Directors has adopted a code of behavior for the Network, which we hope will answer the question, "To post or not to post?" Click here to review proper Netiquette.
Have you received a solicitation put in your mail box by a vendor? Have you received a leaflet at your door? No one is allowed to distribute this kind of material in our community. Please notify our Property Manager.
Welcome to all Buena Vida Guests! As a reminder all residents must register guests at The Fitness Center Spa Desk. Each guest will then be issued a guest pass.
Do you have an opinion you want the Board to consider about an issue currently under discussion? Do you want to have an impact on a Board decision? Don't wait til the monthly Board meeting! You can contact your board members at any time. Use the Contact Us page of this website, contact a board member directly by phone. Your board spends hours debating issues and does its research in the weeks prior to the Monthly Meetings, hammers out a consensus after heated discussion at the monthly preparation meetings, which all are invited to attend, and what is seen at the Board Meetings is the result of much work. Want to be heard properly at a time when it can make a difference? Contact us....
Have you got an idea or suggestion for improvements to our property? Please use the contact page of this website to send a message to the Board or the Property Manager.
The Archive section of our website is the place to go for answers to past questions and recommendations made by your neighbors.
PHOTO ALBUM
Did you know that any photo in our Photo Album section can be clicked, copied and pasted into your computers photo program?
DOCUMENTS
The documents section of this website is the place to go for forms!
Need an ARC form for a proposed change to the exterior of your home? Want to rent the ballroom for a party? Are you a club president and need to confirm room set up for your meeting?
